Creation of Trillion expands the availability of wireless WAN services to additional western states.
AUSTIN, TEXAS - Trillion announced its formation today extending the reach of Trillion's wireless broadband solution to seven western states - Texas , Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and New Mexico. Trillion was formed as an extension of Trillion Digital Communications, Inc. of Birmingham in order to expand services westward. Trillion Digital operates one of the country's largest private fixed wireless networks with over 600 customer sites.
"The creation of Trillion allows us to grow our business more quickly and to provide competitive wireless last mile solutions to schools, municipalities and other customers", said Terry Johnson, President and CEO of Trillion Digital and Chairman of Trillion.
Trillion provides K-12 schools, municipalities, healthcare facilities, libraries and higher education customers with high-speed WAN services ranging from 11 Mbps up to 1 Gbps.
The founding investor in the new affiliate is Meritage Private Equity Funds - a Denver based equity fund with over $475 million in committed equity under management. "Trillion provides a unique business solution to an underserved market" said Stephanie Smeltzer, Vice President at Meritage.
Trillion management team is led by Bear Poth of Austin, Texas - a seasoned telecommunications entrepreneur who will serve as President and CEO of the company. Joining Mr. Poth on the founding management team are Blair Duncan, Chief Financial Officer, Matt Tankersley, Vice President of Sales and Operations, and Ken Proud, Vice President of Engineering and Construction. The team has a collected 70+ years of telecommunications, cable TV and information technology and networking experience. "We are pleased to announce the new Trillion affiliate and look forward to spreading our Value System and solutions westward to new customers", said Mr. Poth.
