Vice President of Operations & Technology

Headquartered in Austin, TX, Trillion is the leading national provider of Priority 1 E-Rate eligible services for wireless wide area networks and voice services in K-12 schools nationwide. We serve 1,500 sites and manage networks to help schools deliver better educational outcomes for 500,000+ students.
The Vice President Operations and Technology must be a network and converged voice technologist who will be responsible for identification of technological advancements or improvements and/or enhancements to existing products. This position oversees efforts to maximize the use of technology for competitive advantage designing, building and supporting Trillion’s Voice over IP (VoIP) services and WAN services for the K-12 market and WAN Backhaul services for the cellular market. This position is also responsible for the day to day Network Operations Center and Field operations to implement and maintain Trillion’s leading customer satisfaction advantage.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop the strategy behind the architecture, evaluation and recommendations related to purchasing and installing hardware and software to support a WAN offering and converged voice offering (VoIP)
- Lead the teams that perform the remote management service for Trillion’s WAN offering and converged voice offering (VoIP).
- Lead the teams to create and document the architecture and operating procedures for the WAN and voice services
- Lead Field Operations to achieve contractual Service Level Agreement metrics such as Mean Time To Repair
- Lead Network Operations Center to achieve required customer service levels
- Lead the team responsible for implementing new customers, as well as current customer upgrades, to maximize new monthly accepted revenue.
- Manage the IT budget for the company.
- Provide executive level sales engineering support in key deals.
Experience and Skill set
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- At least 5 – 7 years applied field experience Multi Service Networking design, deployment, advanced troubleshooting
- 3+ years hands-on experience managing/configuring Cisco VoIP and network infrastructure equipment including Quality of Service.
- Network Management Systems Operating systems experience an advantage
- Extensive knowledge on VoIP
- Previous senior management experience
- Cisco CCIE certification preferred
- Cisco IPT certifications such as: Cisco IP Telephony Operations Specialist, Cisco IPT Support Specialist
- Excellent communication skills
- Enjoys working with customers
- Wireless RF experience an advantage
- Ability to successfully work cross-functionally under significant time and budget pressures
- Ability to interface with engineering groups to coordinate new hardware and software deployment in the IP network
- Limited travel required
