Trillion Helps Start Association to Advocate for District Applicants and Service Providers participating in the USAC E-Rate Program

AUSTIN, TEXAS – December 4, 2007 – Trillion Partners today announced its participation in the E-Rate Service Providers Association (ESPA) as one of the founding members of that organization. ESPA is a trade association for companies providing telecommunications, Internet access and internal connections services to our nation’s school and libraries through the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) E-Rate program. Scott Smyth, Trillion’s E-Rate attorney, was elected chairman of the board of this organization consisting of 15 service providers. Membership is expected to grow substantially this year.
Service providers that make up this organization are very committed to the success of the E-Rate program which has helped fund leading-edge technology and Internet access to school districts and libraries around the nation. ESPA enables service provider members to work in collaboration with Congress, the FCC, USAC and other key organizations to assist in the continued success of the E-Rate program. In addition to advocacy efforts before lawmakers and regulators, ESPA is developing a comprehensive E-rate training curriculum and will serve as a forum for members to network and exchange experiences and concerns.
